Kate Grau (she/her) is currently a Freshman at Brenau University where she is pursuing a degree in Theatre Design and Technology. She graduated from Duluth High School after four years of all-in commitment to their theatre program. Kate developed a love for the arts at a young age focusing on dance, visual arts, and music. In middle school, Kate was introduced to theatre and has developed a deep love for all things related to technical theatre. Kate also trained in the City Springs Theatre Company Pre-Professional Program.

Kate specializes in Technical Direction, Stage Management, Costume Design, and Scenic Design, but dreams of Production Management. Kate’s directorial debut was for Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Jr. as a freshman. Kate has continued her directorial journey by serving as director for The Drowsy Chaperone and technical director for Trap (One Act Play), Seussified Christmas Carol, and West Side Story for Duluth High School.

Kate held several key roles in her high school theatre program over the years, including serving as set designer for the program’s competition plays for three years in a row. Kate enjoys costume design and was costume designer for shows each year of her high school theatre career.

Outside of theater, Kate was been a Girl Scout for 12 years, and is now a lifetime member. She has earned several leadership awards over the years and enjoys leading and mentoring younger Girl Scouts at summer camp. Kate also enjoys baking, reading, seeing plays and musicals, and spending time with her friends and loved ones in her spare time.
